This book is a really good teen novel that expresses the difficulties in India along with a romance that occurs while Carrie is over there.
When Carrie loses her Lucky T, everything goes wrong. First, her boyfriend breaks up with her to go watch a basketball game, then she and her best friend get into a fight. But then it all just gets worse when she finds out she hasn't just lost it, it's half way around the world. Carrie decides to chase after it, and ends up learning to care for others while over in India.
When she first gets over to India, Carrie goes to help with building houses for the homeless. When she knocks tools into the cement, Celia tells her to go for a walk. On the way to looking for a women's shelter to see if her Lucky T is there, she bumps, literally bumps, into Dee, a boy she decidedly now has a crush on. He offers her a place at the Children's Home and she accepts. After getting there, she has Dee into thinking that she came over to India to help out everywhere she could. But then Doreen has to come and ruin it by telling Dee that she came over to find a lousy t-shirt. After going through troubles between herself, Dee, and others in the story, Carrie finally learns how to live, love, and to help.
I really liked this book. It offered a view of the world and how to help. It put the poverty situation in perspective and also relates to many teens in the world today. The conclusion summed up the whole story with many decisions made and problems solved. This book I would reccommend to most people who enjoy novels that have to do with teen romance.

I was looking at that in B&N the other day, it looks like an interesting book. Or was it online? Regardless, I'm interested in reading that. ^^
It was a great book. I didn't know if I would like it, but I tried it anyways and loved it.
